Midwest District of the Missionary Church Newsletter
New Pastor for Lincoln Northeast
It gives me great pleasure to let you know that Lincoln Northeast has extended a call to Nathan Schmidt to become their next senior pastor. The Schmidts will be arriving in the United States from Bolivia on August 28. They will need to quarantine for two weeks. Then, after a few weeks with family, they will make their home in Lincoln.
Pray for them as they juggle various logistical challenges, including international travel and finding a place to in Lincoln to live.
Pray especially that God will prepare the way for a season of great spiritual fruitfulness as Nathan begins to shepherd the flock at Northeast and equip those entrusted to his care to reach their community with the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Thank you for your prayers offered on behalf of the Lincoln church.
God has given those of us in the Midwest District a wonderful opportunity to be a blessing to Nathan and Amy Schmidt, as they transition to Lincoln Nebraska after serving the Lord in South America. Nathan will begin serving as senior pastor of Lincoln Northeast Church on October 1.
As you might imagine, Nathan and Amy are incurring some significant costs as they establish a new home in the US. We would like to help defray some of those costs by encouraging the churches and people of the District to give to a special fund set up for their benefit.
Here are specific instructions on how to give. Go to northeastmissionary.org and click on the “News and Online Giving” tab on the left pane. Then click on the “Give Online” button. (Please note that the donor will be charged a small ACH fee of $0.25.)
If you wish to donate “offline,” please mail a check (payable to the Northeast Missionary Church.) Write in the memo line “Schmidt Family.” Mail the check to

MWD Pastors Prayer Retreat
This year’s MWD Pastors Prayer Retreat will be at Timber Lakes from November 29th -December 2nd. It will begin with gathering together for a meal at a TBD restaurant and conclude with brunch on Wednesday morning. It is free to all Licensed Pastors in the MWD.
The goal is simply to give you a designated time to separate from normal responsibilities to refresh and seek the Lord on behalf of your own welfare. That may look differently for each of us so we have a relaxed agenda that will serve your purpose.
This year we do plan to spend more time together watching several sessions from the Prayer Awakening Conference featuring Dave Butts. Dave ministered at SHIFT 2019 and is a good man and minister of the Lord. He will challenge and bless us in our efforts in the arena of prayer.
The Lord’s promise is
“you will seek Me and find Me when you seek Me with all of your heart.”
His blessing awaits.
Thank you note from Millers
We are gradually getting settled into our new home, but as we develop relationships in our new church and community, we realize how much we are going to miss our friends and "family" in the Midwest District. All of the pastors, people and churches in the district have been part of our lives for 47 years and God has blessed us so much because of your friendship and influence. We truly count it a privilege to have served with you and we can assure you of our prayers in the days ahead.
May God continue to bless each pastor and congregation in the Midwest District. We look forward to hearing about the good things that God is going to accomplish through you as you faithfully serve Him,. If you are ever in the Goshen area, feel free to give us a call---we'd love to hear from you.
Thanks again for your kindness and generosity!
