Mrs. Blevins' Weekly Update
Week of December 7th
STAFF SPOTLIGHT
In our world of big names, curiously, our true heroes tend to be anonymous. This week I would like to highlight and commend our WWMS Custodial Staff. These hard working women and men have been on the frontlines for our school community during this global pandemic. While the building has been closed to students they have been completing much needed maintenance projects. They have completed renovations, painting, and facility upgrades. While the building was operating with students and staff they have kept us safe by continuously cleaning and disinfecting common areas, high touch points, and bathrooms. We have prevented any community spread of Covid-19 in our building through their disinfecting efforts. They are WWMS' first line of defense and they are doing a thankless job, but always maintain a smile and a positive attitude. So this week I say "hat's off to our custodial staff!" #HeroesWorkHere

RETURN TO REMOTE INSTRUCTION
On December 7th Edison Township Public Schools transitioned to remote instruction due to the significant rise in positive Covid-19 cases in the district. Currently, the district plans to transition back to hybrid instruction on January 4th following the winter break. While we are on remote instruction, and the building is closed to students, remember that "school" is still open. WWMS administration, guidance, teachers and staff are still here to assist you with any needs or concerns. Please feel free to reach out via email or call the school. We must work together to support our students during this trying time. Again, I thank you for your support and patience as we navigate these uncharted waters together.

PTA VIRTUAL COFFEE CHAT
I am very excited to announce our 2nd PTA Virtual Coffee Chat of the year. Please join us to learn more about the ways that our teachers are supporting your child's social and emotional development in the classroom. You will have an opportunity to learn from our WWMS SEL Leadership team ways that you can support your child at home with SEL strategies. Coffee Chats are a great way to connect our school community by discussing topics that support our students and families. I hope you can join us!

PTA SCHOLASTIC BOOK FAIR
We are working hard to keep kids reading and raise critical funds for our school with our Scholastic Online Book Fair. The Book Fair will run until DECEMBER 13TH, 2020!
The Fair will connect your kids to notable books and inspiring characters—helping them become lifelong readers. And you’ll love the new option to experience the magic of the shopping experience through a Virtual Book Fair!
