Zionsville Walking Tour
- Mr. Chagdes
- Ms. Nolasco
- Mr. Shankar
- Ms. Hutchings
- Mr. Mitalski
Thank you to my amazing chaperons for helping our class have a successful field trip! I think the walking tour is one of my favorite field trips in the year and I am grateful we had beautiful weather :)
A HUGE thank you to Mr. Rob Chagdes. He came each month to join our classroom and taught us the amazing facts that made the field trip even more meaningful to the kids. He truly brought a sense of joy and excitement to this curriculum and I feel the class will remember their town's history for a long time.
Rube Goldberg
Nine More Days!
This week was BUSY!! We have diligently worked on our Rube Goldberg projects and are starting to see great work. We will have six more classroom hours to work on our projects and then the third grade teachers are cutting off the working time. We feel the classes need to be mindful about time and deadlines. Also, we are starting to see where sharing information and ideas is turning into a lot of silly conversations that derail us from being productive. Oh - if they only knew adults struggle with this, too! On Monday, the third graders will meet as a whole with the three teachers, too. We want to make sure each third grader understands the expectations and goals - and also, so the homeroom teacher doesn't always sound and look like the bad guy :)
In math, we are heading into our last week of math facts and concepts. I am proud of their effort and work ethic with their math skills lately! They LOVE math facts time.
In reading, we will finish our puzzle boards on Monday and have a fun celebration of putting those together as a class.
Staying Focused and Being Respectful
There will not be much homework in the next week, but there may be small things needing to get finished at home to encourage we stay on task here at school. Please, continue to check your child's folder and agenda for anything on his/her to-do list.
