Arrowhead Construction Update
In addition, staff and families may now park in our new parking lot. Families who arrive late, volunteer, or need to pick up for an appointment may park in the parking lot and access the building through the main entrance. Thanks again for your patience and cooperation. See diagram below for information about parking and our student drop off and pick up location.
Lastly, work has begun our our new playground and recess area. I will keep you posted about the playground progress. We will have a new basketball blacktop area along with playground equipment and swings. We continue to make progress with the interior and exterior of new Arrowhead building.
The new parking lot and student drop off/pick up location is displayed below. The gray area listed as the construction zone will not be accessible for parking or student drop/off and pick up.
Beginning of the year benchmark assessments
Mrs. Doutgherty's Kindergarten students were so proud to share their math counting!
Mrs. Clark's Grade 1 students learning phonics and reviewing the characters, setting, and plot of a story.
Mrs. Keffer's Grade 2 students learning about citizenship.
Mrs. MacCorkle's Grade 3 students discussing genre, personality, culture, and community for the ELA story, Gary the Dreamer.
Mr. Yosifon's Grade 4 students thumbs up to their Social Studies lesson about our Founding Fathers as they are reviewing the difference between a fact and an opinion.
Miss Sherman's Grade 4 PE students engaging in the stack cup challenge! Great use of a STEM activity!
Methacton High School Theatre Company
On Friday, October 14th, Methacton High School students will be hosting a Theatre Bootcamp Fundraiser for students in Kindergarten - 8th Grade, from 6:30pm - 8:30pm in the high school cafeteria (Check in begins at 6pm). MHSTC members will run stations highlighting multiple theatrical aspects, such as lighting, props creation, dance, theatre games, stage hair and makeup, and more.
Cost is $17 per person in advance, payable thru the Venmo code in the registration link, or $20 cash at the door. Space is limited, and will be on a first registered, first served basis.
UNIVERSAL FREE BREAKFAST PROGRAM
On Friday, September 9, 2022, Governor Wolf announced a Universal Free Breakfast program for all Pennsylvania students to begin on October 1, 2022 through the end of the 2022-2023 school year. As a result, all Methacton School District students will have the option to receive breakfast each morning at no cost. Our building principals are working on a plan with Aramark to roll out this new program and will be providing additional information in the coming days. We welcome two new MCIU classrooms to the building
We are also excited to welcome an Autistic Support classroom. The teachers will be Ms. Colleen Hallman and Ms. Nikki Mastrangelo. The teacher assistant will be Ms. Cassie Donahue.
Fall Festival Update
Students will be having a fall festival party in their classrooms on October 28th . Homeroom parents will be organizing fall themed games and crafts for students on this day. Teachers will communicate fall festival party times to their families.
Students are invited to wear fall colored clothing or a school appropriate costume that day (no large, inflatable, or gory costumes, no face paint or masks covering the entire face). Students will not be changing into, or out of, costumes during the day, so please be sure your child is wearing something comfortable that does not interfere with their safety. All students will follow their regular daily schedule with Physical Education, Art, Music, Recess and Lunch. We are excited to have our classroom parties, and we appreciate the support of our home and school volunteers!

As previously communicated we highly recommend that our students and families consider riding the bus due to the construction, parking, and traffic flow issues associated with new construction. However, we understand that this may not be possible for all students and families. As such, if your child/ren will be car riders for the upcoming 2022-2023 school year, please fill out the google document form.
