Library Redevelopment Update
We are very grateful to the PTA and all of our Glenealy families and community for your continued support around fundraising for the new library.

Picture Book Area
Great shelves at a good height for easy choosing and fun tiered seating for story-time.
Fiction Book Area
All the latest chapter books and some cool seating to hang out with friends.
Non-Fiction Area
Study booths, flexible seating and all the non-fiction books and technology in one place.
Book Week - April 15 - 19
The PTA have kindly offered to sponsor well-known author Sarah Brennan to spend a day with us during the week, which will be a wonderful experience for all classes.
Book Week Dress-Up
Get ready for Book Week! Catch Me Reading Photo Competition!
Ask a family member to take a photo of you reading – somewhere, anywhere! You can get ‘caught’ reading in bed, at the dinner table, brushing your teeth, walking the dog, beside the pool, at the beach, at a restaurant etc – be creative! Photos can be printed out and brought to the school library or emailed directly to Mrs. Oliver in the library – toliver@gs.esf.edu.hk. All entries in by April 15 please.
Student-Led Conference Book Sale Update
Children who donated one of these books to the library will be the first to borrow it and most should be ready next week.

Community News
Become a famous illustrator!
Cosmos the baby humpback whale wants to know all about the world and the creatures in it. He sets off to find polar bears and penguins and has many exciting adventures along the way! To illustrate her 3rd book, Cosmos the Curious Whale, Gail Clarke invites all primary school students (Year 1 - Year 4) to draw and colour a tropical fish. More than 300 of the most original and colourful entries will be included in the book! The young artists whose pictures are chosen will receive a printed certificate and will be acknowledged on the inside book cover and on Gail’s brand-new website (www.gailclarkeauthor.com).
The Competition
The Illustration Competition is open to all primary school students (Y1 to Y4). Participants are invited to draw ONE colourful tropical fish on an A4 sheet using any medium they like: colour pencil, water colour, pastels etc.
How to enter
Please email directly your artwork in a jpeg format to gail@gailclarkeauthor.com (maximum size 1MB, A4 size and please make sure to mention your first and last name, your age, your email and mailing address as well as the name of your school and country). The deadline for submisssions is April 30, 2013.
About Gail Clarke
Gail Clarke enjoyed more than 35 years as a primary schoolteacher before retiring to Italy. These days she finds herself travelling more than ever to visit family and friends living all around the world. Her personal migrations are the inspiration for her animal migration stories. As a planet-ambassador, she is also deeply passionate about wildlife protection and the environment.Gail recently came to read her book "Searching for Skye - An Arctic Tern Adventure" to Year 4 students.
