Continued Curriculum Review
Review of “Master Maps”--Send changes to Mrs. Breeding. You can view Master Maps when looking at "School Maps." Look for Mrs. Breeding's name in the list.
Review of Standardized Testing results-- As testing results are made available, Mr. Walter will send those out to teachers. Please review these results noting areas of concern before your scheduled meeting. (See dates below)
Review of Standardized Test Standards if available for planning purposes.
You will receive reminders occasionally to update your maps throughout the school year. It is recommended that you create a reminder or schedule dates each month to work on needed revisions. Please make sure your maps reflect what is actually covered in the classroom. As technology and resources change, please include those changes in your maps.
When you meet with your department / grade level . . .
Here are some additional ideas of what you can cover:
Some content looks the same at each grade level, BUT the expectations for each grade level differs. Is this reflected in the maps?
Assessments should be clear and show a gradual progression in difficulty from one grade level to the next. Is this evident?
What do we really want and need to know when we assess student learning with classroom assessments?

Technology Review & Curriculum Mapping
Sometimes questions come up about technology and curriculum. Here are 6 steps to digital replacement as we add more and more technology to the classroom:
Looking at the learning objectives/content in your maps: What instructional tasks have you designed to ensure objectives are being met?
Looking at the skills: Will using digital tools enhance the learning? If so, in what ways?
Will digital tools increase or decrease the cognitive rigor of the task? What additional skills might have to be considered in order to engage this upgrade?
Does the digital upgrade involve collaboration, communication, creative problem solving and or creative thinking? How will students engage in these skills?
Are sufficient digital tools available and do all students have access to them? Brainstorm potential technology access points and digital tools that should be in the students’ toolboxes.
Are the students involved in some of the decision-making? How much are the students contributing to the design, process, or product?
