I hope everyone had a restful, healthy Thanksgiving holiday weekend! Today ends the first trimester, so we are already one third of the way through the 22-23 school year. Please review the information below for important updates.

End of 1st Trimester: Friday, December 2
A friendly reminder that the 1st Trimester officially ends today, December 2nd. The 2nd Trimester begins on Monday, December 5th so be sure to check your student's schedule in advance. As a reminder, WHS students will have an early release day on December 2 and will be dismissed at 11:30 a.m. Students who need to wait for a ride, can wait in the commons area. If a student needs to purchase a lunch for December 2, please have them stop in the Main Office. Buses will run at the regular time (3:30 p.m.).
Junior Meetings
Junior Meetings are underway with the School Counselors! These meetings will include a review of the student’s strengths, interests, academic performance, talents, abilities, and the continued development of post-secondary goals. Meetings are scheduled between November and January for 30-40 minutes. Parents/guardians are encouraged to participate. Our goal is to encourage our students to secure strategies and skills to help them become college-, career- and life- ready. Senior Scholarship Information
The WHS local scholarship information was released to senior students before Thanksgiving break. If students or parents have questions regarding the scholarship process, please contact Katie Pirkel or Deb Fischer.
Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB)
The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (the ASVAB) will be offered at WHS on Tuesday, December 13th. Completing the ASVAB provides students with valuable information on vocational aptitudes and career interests and is the assessment used to determine eligibility for specific military occupations. The ASVAB is free and available to sophomores, juniors and seniors. Students received an sign-up in their student email.
WHS Week in Review
SkillsUSA students shot a promo video for an upcoming fundraiser this week at the Watertown TV Studio.
Students in 3rd year German learned how to make the classic German Christmas cookie: Zimtsterne (cinnamon stars).
WHS hosted the annual art show this week!
