Wednesday is Earth Day!
How are your children doing with our EARTH DAY CHALLENGE? Show us some of the things your children are doing to help take care of our Earth. Send your photos! We will include them in our newsletter over the next several days.
Here are some fun ideas that you can do at home for the EARTH DAY CHALLENGE:
- Make a bird feeder
- Help your family to recycle
- Plant some flowers
Wishing you all a Happy Spring!

Student Participation in Remote Learning
I am aware that there have been a few parents worried that their child might be retained if they do not participate in remote learning. Students will NOT be retained due to a lack of participation during COVID-19. However, we want to strongly encourage and support you so that your child can access and participate in the lessons that our teachers have worked so hard to put together.
Keep in mind that the more your child participates in remote learning the better prepared they will be for the next school year. If you cannot access the remote learning assignments, need technology support or have any questions, please reach out to your child’s teacher, me or any of the other building leadership administrators. We are in this together with you!
A notice about retention...
Traditionally at Carver Elementary School, an initial discussion with families regarding retention takes place in March. Now that we are settled into our remote learning plan, we wanted to let you know that if your child’s teacher(s) were considering retention prior to our leaving school on March 13, 2020, you should have heard from them already. Please note that your child’s participation in remote learning will not be a determining factor in whether or not they will be retained. However, the more involved and engaged your child is in remote learning, the better prepared they will be for the coming school year.
