Second Steps Social Skill Curriculum Week 9! Make sure you fit Second Steps into your week!
Kindergarten - Same or Different? People can have different feelings about the same situation. It is okay for people to have different feelings about the same thing.
First Grade - Feelings Change - People may have different feelings about the same situation at different times. Feelings may change over time. Being inviting and welcoming can change people's feelings.
Second Grade - Showing Compassion - Noticing and understanding what someone is feeling helps you have empathy. When you have empathy for someone, you can show you care and concern by saying something kind or doing something to help . Showing care and concern is called showing compassion.
Third Grade - Showing Compassion - Focusing attention on and listening to others can help you have empathy and show compassion. You can say kind words or do helpful things to show your compassion.
Fourth Grade - Showing Compassion - Compassion means saying kind words or doing something helpful to show you care about how another person feels. Having empathy helps you show compassion.
Fifth Grade - Introducing Emotion Management - When you have strong, unmanaged emotions, it can lead to negative behavior and consequences.
**Reinforce, recognize with specific positive feedback frequently and in the moment.
**Please remember to place Minors in the appropriate tubs in the workroom as soon as possible so that they can get entered into SWIS in a timely manner. Thanks so much!!

1. Grades/scores need to be entered into Infinite Campus by Tuesday of each week.
2. Kelly Services number is 1-866-535-5998. Calls need to be made before 6:15 AM. Send Scott a text 9573-619-2852) if you are getting a sub along with the confirmation number.
3. When using your jean coupon for social dues, PLEASE make sure you give it to Scott on the day you are wearing jeans.
4. As iReady seats are being assigned to students, teachers must check student progress weekly - Scott can show you a couple of very helpful reports.
