What's Up At The Nest...

It was all about being thankful at OMS this week. We started off by showing our appreciation for our veterans by making a peace pinwheel display along Arlington Heights Road and Olive Street. Among the many things we are thankful for due to our veterans is the freedom we all have to attend a school where we can learn and grow each day. Throughout the rest of the week, we talked about different ways we are thankful for our OMS community and families. This truly is a special place. Of course, we are always working to improve and looking at things in a different way but, at our core, we are so thankful for the opportunity to work alongside you to cultivate your child's creativity, academic achievement, social and emotional well-being, imagination, curiosity, and joyfulness. We are thankful for each day we have the honor and privilege of being their teachers.

We hope that this coming week affords you big chunks of time to enjoy your families along with time for rest and rejuvenation.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Message From Officer Veenstra - Parking Regulations Along Olive Street

Hello Olive Parents,

I am writing this memo to make you aware that there have been several complaints regarding cars parking along the curb by Olive School on the south side of the street. There have also been reports of students exiting the driver’s side of the vehicle and stepping out into the street, instead of exiting on the curbside. This creates a very dangerous situation for the students and other drivers. The signs in the photo below are posted on both sides of Olive. There should be no parking, stopping, or standing from 8 AM- 4 PM.

In addition, anyone participating in the CAP Program should note that student drop-off and pick up is prohibited in the areas around these signs, and that includes before and after school hours or any time of the day. Please park in the main parking lot of the school if you’re in the CAP program

Please keep the kids safe.
