5th Grade Summer Reading!
Are you ready for some Rest, Relaxation, and Reading?
Summer is the perfect time to sit back, relax, and enjoy a great book!
We are asking the incoming fifth grade class to read a book (or ten!) of their choosing. Below you will find a collection of books that come highly recommended for a fifth grader.
Your child should be ready to do a "book talk" on their favorite book in September. Book talks are short, informal presentations designed to inspire others to read the same book. Word-of-mouth is an extremely effective way to spread "book love" and to encourage and share in the joy of reading.
We believe that building a strong culture surrounding a love of reading is the first step in creating lifelong learners and readers.
On behalf of our HBMS 5th Grade Teachers, thank you for being an important part of growing adolescent (and lifelong) readers!
Sincerely,
Mr, Schug
