June 3, 2016
Hello Mustangs!
The 2015-16 school year is in the books! Can you believe it? What a wonderful end to the year we had with our Kindergarten Program, 5th grade graduation, 5th grade Final Walk, and grade level classroom celebrations! The air was full of pride, excitement, and eager anticipation for summer as we brought this year to a close.
I would like to take this time to personally wish each and every Mustang family a safe, happy and relaxing summer. Please don't forget to enjoy some great reading and practice those math skills. Students will be able to still access their Reading Counts and First in Math accounts over the summer. Do encourage your child to use these resources as well as fun trips to the Public Library.
Thank you for sharing your children with us! We look forward to seeing our Mustangs in August while we wish the best to our graduates!
Yours truly,
Jan Fickling, Principal of Midway Elementary

In search of Coaches for Girls on the Run team for next year
Be a Girls on the Run Coach!
Girls on the Run is a unique, life-changing after-school program that has positively impacted over 5,000 girls in the midlands area. Meeting twice a week in small teams of 8-18 girls, volunteer coaches teach life skills through dynamic, conversation-based lessons and running games. The curricula has been shown to increase self-esteem and improve body image. Learn more by watching this video.
You do not have to be an experienced runner to coach! If you'd like to serve as an encouraging role model for girls, contact Anna May at anna.may@girlsontherun.org for more information.
