End Of Course Assessments - Beginning Tuesday, December 6, 2022!
End of Course (EOC) assessments are scheduled this week for students who were absent for testing last year or need to retake one or more exams. Students participating in testing can find their testing date/location on posters located in the RFHS Commons. Parents should have also received an email message regarding their students’ need to test next week. If you would like to access your student’s scores electronically, please visit the Texas Assessment website at https://www.texasassessment.gov/
Testing will begin at 8:30 a.m. each morning.
Please be aware that phones or electronic devices, including Smartwatches, may not be used in the testing area. If devices are brought to the testing room, they will be collected and returned to the student after testing has been completed.
Students are encouraged to get a good night’s sleep, eat a healthy breakfast, and do their best on the assessments. For questions, please reach out to Kathy Stephenson.

Helping the Community
Student Council is sponsoring a canned food drive to benefit the Rockport-Fulton Good Samaritans. Canned meat, peanut butter, ramen noodles, etc. are all needed.
The third-period class with the greatest number of collected items will receive a sweet treat.
Items will be collected through Wednesday, December 13. All donations are greatly appreciated!

Scholarship Session
On Tuesday, November 29th, Gardner Burford from the Coastal Bend Community Foundation met with Seniors to provide information on applying for scholarships through their organization. Mr. Burford walked the students through the application, providing tips on how to complete the process. Application submission is available from December 1, 2022, thru March 1, 2023. Mr. Burford encouraged students not to wait until the last minute to complete the application. For more information, please email the Senior Advisors or Counselors.

Semester Exams
- 3 or fewer absences (excluded from this count: medical notes, school-approved activities, or other excuses permitted by law)
- 5 tardies = 1 absence
- Students with disciplinary placements of ISS, OSS, or DAEP are not eligible.
Students who are exempt may elect to take a semester exam in order to increase their grade. Those exempt students who choose to test will not have their grades negatively impacted by the exam. Even exempt students must be present for the exam class period; otherwise, the exemption is lost and the exam grade is a 0.

Some members of the RFHS Student Council attended a fall area convention in Edna recently. Students spent the day discussing events, chatting with others, creating cheers, and participating in the talent show. Led by Mrs. Macha, the Student Council is making a bigger presence on the campus than ever before!

College and Career News
Dual Credit Registration for Spring 2023 Semester
Students currently taking dual credit courses who are planning to take a course next semester will need to complete the “Green” Spring 2022 Dual Credit Registration form and return it to Mrs. Stephenson. Forms can be found in the Dual Credit Lab, Counselors Office, and on the Dual Credit Google Classroom page (see the post from October 17, 2022). Students who are not currently taking a dual credit course but are interested in taking a dual credit course next semester can reach out to Mrs. Stephenson at kstephenson@acisd.org. Spring registration must be submitted by December 9, 2022.
Dual Credit Spring Tuition Due Monday, December 5, 2022
If a student's spring semester registration has been processed by Del Mar College before Monday, December 5, 2022, their tuition payment is due by Monday evening. Students need to check their “Viking Pay” account for classes and the amount that is due. Don't risk being dropped from the course!
If students do not see their classes listed, please reach out to Mrs. Stephenson ASAP! The final deadline to register for the spring semester is Friday, December 9, 2022! Some registration forms have been returned and not processed due to classes that closed quickly, possibly a hold on the student’s account, etc. Some Spring 2023 registration forms have also not been turned in for next semester! Students can also check their WebDMC account to make sure they are registered for the correct Spring courses. Important Dates/Deadlines:
December 5, 2022: First Dual Credit Payment Deadline for registration must be processed by this date.
December 9, 2022: Final Registration Deadline for Spring 2023 Dual Credit courses
January 15, 2022: FAFSA Opened on October 1st! Seniors need to complete applications as soon as possible! The priority deadline is January 15th.

SENIOR ADVISOR INFO
The Senior Sweepstakes is coming on Jan 9th after Senior Orientation at 1:25! We would like to reward those students that have been working hard on post-secondary planning and life after High School. We will be having a drawing for eligible students, and Seniors will receive a “Golden Ticket” if they have done any of the following:
1. completed the FAFSA and a college application
2. formally enlisted in the Military
3. formally enrolled in a trade program
4. been accepted into college
5. created a written plan that outlines clearly entry into the workforce (See Advisors for details)

Del Mar Day is coming! Delmar College will be here on Tuesday, December 13th. We will have an admissions specialist on campus to assist and answer any questions about the applications and enrollment process. We will be meeting in Mr. Kelly’s room. They will also be able to discuss the many programs DMC has to offer!

ACE NEWS
Our RFHS ACE students generously share their time and amazing talents to enrich our community. Our school, district, and community benefit from the many gifts and talents of our students.
The Interact Club members have been extremely busy wrapping gifts for Operation Santa and raising over $500 to support the fight against polio.
Our talented choir and theatre ACE students entertained and enchanted students, staff, family members, friends, and community members with their world-class presentations of the musical Beauty and the Beast!
Members of the Audio/Visual Club wrote, directed, performed, and filmed the original short film entitled "Jessie’s Girl," which was featured at the Rockport-Fulton Film Festival.
ACE gaming students enjoy testing their unique strategies and creativity overcoming the challenges of Dungeons and Dragons, Chess, and Magic the Gathering.
Open Mic and Creative Writing encourage students to practice, grow, and share their creativity and talents in a supportive environment.
