Criteria of a Producer
There are no education requirements for a music producer, but having formal music training would be an advantage.
Salary and Demand
Salary:
They can earn anywhere from $27,000 - $75,000 a year or more. Very successful producers can earn up to $1,000,000 or more!
Demand:
The outlook for this job is expected to grow 8% between 2008 and 2018, but competition for these openings are going to be very rare.
Day on the Job as a Producer
Music Producers have schedules that typically alternate between periods of heavy demand and lots of down time.
