The Week Before Spring Break

The Week Before Spring Break
Here are some of my thoughts this week...the week before Spring Break will never be the same. Before this year, I have spent my student life and teacher life counting down to Spring Break. I am not saying that I will never count down to it again, but I am saying that it will never be the same. Missing normal school weighs on me as I am sure it does you. Ms. Greer and I have rode around the Mulberry district handing out packets and food back packs for the second time today. It is such a surreal thing. We find lots of things to laugh about, mainly to keep us from crying. One of our laughs came in the form of a road sign. There is a legit road in our county called Cooter Hollow. I lie you not! That is real. I have a picture to show you. We laughed so hard. It was late in the afternoon, but we turned around to make sure we read it right. Could you imagine that being your address?? LOL Ms Greer and I laughed until we cried. On the other hand, just minutes before, we handed a mom a small bag of food and she looks at us in the eyes and says "Thank you so much. Y'all have no idea how much this helps us." We cried for an entirely different reason. There are people in our community that are hungry, really hungry.
We will all come through this changed. I believe in a good way. I will forever be appreciative. Appreciative for my faith, food, health, family, friends, my job, and my school.
