Message fom Library 2.0 Founder - Steve Hargadon
This is an experiment.
As many in our community have been asked to "shelter in place," talking and socializing with peers and colleagues has gotten harder.
Here is the link to a page on Library 2.0 with a live, online, Zoom video meeting "hangout" room. Anyone who is a member of the Library 2.0 community can join using the link below. If you haven't used Zoom before, it works universally on computers and mobile devices. You can test at zoom.us/test.
https://www.library20.com/page/live
As much as we are able, we will keep the meeting room open 24-hours a day. Please keep your conversations focused on library-related topics.
IMPORTANT: Please do not ever give the direct link out--if someone wants to join, direct them to this page link above. This will require them to join our community, and will give some level of protection against anyone who might be disruptive or exhibit inappropriate behavior. Zoom will also require that you create an account (free) to use the link--this gives us one more layer of protection to prevent and block bad behavior. We will not be able to actively monitor this room. If you experience any concerning behavior, please email admin@learningrevolution.com.
We do want your feedback! Leave your comments here: https://www.library20.com/forum/topics/librarians-live-zoom-hangout-room-experiment.
See you "online!"
Steve

- CodeMonkey: a game-based education program that teaches children to code. It comes with a membership fee, but there's a free 14-day trial that doesn't require a credit card.
- BrainPop: Online learning across subject areas for children in kindergarten through middle school and ELL learning for all age groups. Free.
- Khan Academy: Online learning in math, science, and literacy for all age groups. Standards-aligned. Free.
- BrainPop: Fun, interactive educational activities for all ages and all subject areas
- Scholastic Learn at Home: Interactive learning journeys for all ages.
