You should join Sparta because Sparta had fertile soil so they could farm really well, they took lands they needed, Spartans were also responsible for making Shoes, red cloaks for the soldiers and iron tools. Sparta feared that contact with other city-states would make new ideas that might weaken the government.
Slavery in Sparta
Slavery in Sparta isn't as bad like Athens slavery. Even tho Spartans treated them harshly but spartan government once asked the slaves the choose their best fighters and the Spartans said that those slaves would be set free as a thanks for fighting for Spartans. Slaves still had some rights too they could marry whoever they wanted also whenever they wanted, slaves could also pass their names to their children.
Women in sparta
Women and Sparta were treated way different than women in Athens Spartan women had more rights than Athenian women. Spartan women they were allowed to talk to their husbands friends , could own and control their own property, they could even marry again if their first husband is away for war for a long time. Spartan women were expected to be strong and healthy and ready to fight when needed, they also had to guard their husbands property against invaders.

The age of 7, all spartan children trained for battle, even girls where given military training. Both learned wrestling and boxing, foo tracing, and gymnastics.Boys learned how to read and write but they were not considered as essential military skills. Spartan boys were taught to suffer physical pain without complaining .At age 20, Spartan men were given a difficult test to fitness, military ability and leadership skills and if they passed they became spartan soldiers and full citizens.
The Spartan Economy
Spartans made a second group of people, non citizens who were free but they might serve in the army when needed but they could not take place in their government. They were also responsible for making necessary items like Shoes, red cloaks, iron tools like knives and spears. they also conducted some trade with other city-states for goods that Sparta cannot provide for its self.
