Weekly Wildcat Newsletter - Apr. 16
Northwestern Middle School News and Notes
Good Afternoon Wildcat Country!
We had a great week of school! The remote days were smooth and it's been great having our F2F students back yesterday and today! We only have six more weeks of school!
In preparation for Georgia Milestones, Northwestern will participate in a brief practice test on Monday that is designed to test our network before the actual online testing later this month. This "stress" test will occur throughout the district and all of our students will participate.
If you have any questions, you can email me directly at petersonj1@fultonschools.org.
Have a great weekend! I'm looking forward to seeing everyone back on Monday!
Thank You!
Thank you!

Volunteers Needed for Career Fair - Please Help!
Please let us know if you would be willing to submit a 2–5-minute video talking about your career using a program called FlipGrid. Because it is designed for students, FlipGrid is easy to use to create and post videos. A link to record and a sample video are below. Any information or stories about your job and career path are welcome. To help inspire you, here are the most asked questions from students:
1 – Name, Title of Job, Company (please put these as the title of your video)
2 – How did you get into this field and this particular job?
3 – What is the best and worst part of your job?
4 – What is the education and/or experience needed for this job?
5 – Describe a typical day at your job.
6 – What is the starting salary or average salary for a job like yours?
7 – What advice would you have on how to pursue this career?
Below is the link you would need to go to for recording a video. It will ask which platform you want to go through, Microsoft or Google. (If you don’t have either, you will have to record yourself on a phone and then e-mail to me at hintonj@fultonschools.org or text to me at: 470-473-8157.
I know it is asking a lot of you, but please know these students are very eager to start exploring careers and what better way if they can’t do it live, then to watch what the experts themselves have to say! Please return video submissions by April 20th.

Here is my example if you need an more of an idea what to do (don’t judge and yes it was my 10th try, then I just had to say “it is what it is”)

Feel free to add send any attachments or power points to your video by just e-mailing me them, and I will attach to your video.
Thanks so much for all your help with this!
Please e-mail with any questions and if you have any suggestions to improve this process, please let me know.
