Red wolf populations were decimated by the 1960s due to intensive predator control programs and loss of habitat.
What is being done to protect it?
They found 17 remaining red wolves and 14 of them bred. They were first checked to sure they were pure-blood and only red wolf. By these efforts there is now more than 350 in the wild!
