News from Principal Lamothe

π Hello PRS Wizards π
This week was filled with so many firsts and first last:
- First day of school
- First day of Kindergarten
- First child going to school
- First set of tears for parents sending their youngest to school
- First last time 5th graders will enter PRS at the start of school
Every one of these first/first lasts is a milestone for all of us and we cherish each one of those moments.
The students have settled in nicely even with the hot weather in the classrooms. We have made sure that they have gotten plenty of water breaks and we have made classrooms in the library and computer labs available as cooling spaces to teach when specialists classes are not being conducted so students get some A/C during the day to be able to focus.
Coming up next week...
Monday, September 11th (Day 5A)
- First Fire Drill - 9 AM
Wednesday, September 13th (Day 1B)
- First - ALL School Meeting
Thursday, September 14th (Day 2B)
Friday, September 15th (Day 3B)
- PTO Meeting in Cafeteria - 8:30 AM
- Bus Evacuation Practice - 9 AM

Great News!
The PRO PTO has graciously chose to fund and support Plymouth River Elementary who has partnered with PickUp Patrol to help better manage our dismissal process (TraducciΓ³n EspaΓ±ola).
PickUp Patrol provides a layer of safety to our dismissal process by authorizing plan changes and automatically tracking student dismissal plans. The application reduces interruptions, speeds up dismissal time, and is administered by our own staff.
ALL plan changes should now be submitted through PickUp Patrol. When making changes, please do not send notes, emails, or call the office, except in an emergency.
Important Action Needed: Please take a few minutes to set up your account so that we can accurately dismiss your child(ren).

Aspen Family Portal
I'm pleased to inform you that the "Parent Permissions" is fully prepared for use this year to sign off on paperwork normally sent home by the classroom teacher. To assist parents in navigating this process, Central Office has made and I have attached a PDF outlining the steps they should follow through their Aspen family portal accounts.
By clicking on above "PRS PTO News" will bring you to the PTO website.
