Message from Principal Jones Harris
August 22-August 26
Greetings Parents from John L. Ory Communication Arts Magnet School!
Here are a few updates:
- We have had an amazing 2 weeks of school! Last Monday, our Kindergartners began school, and they are all ready to learn!
- Our scholars are held to high academic and behavioral expectations each day and are doing a great job in meeting those expectations. We have seen a drastic improvement with dress code, and our scholars are following our schoolwide expectations, Be Safe, Be Respectful, Be Responsible, Be a Leader!
- Our new carpool and bus procedures are working well. We are working with transportation to improve our afternoon pick up times. Thank you for your patience!
- Our scholars are able to use the cafeteria during lunch and socialize with their friends.
- All scholars have a 30 minute lunch period. For grade levels that do not have a scheduled recess, 10 of the 30 minutes may be used to bring scholars outside at the discretion of the teacher and if the weather permits.
After School Club Membership coming soon for the following:
- Graphic Arts Printing Club
- Jr. Beta and Beta Club

K-5 teachers will send a weekly newsletter to keep parents informed.
Ms. Jones will send the school's newsletter bi-weekly to keep parents informed of schoolwide events.
Thank you for your continued support. Our faculty, staff, and administrative team look forward to an amazing year. Please mark your calendars for important dates, and enjoy our Back to School video created, edited, produced, and published by Mr. Joshua Lennix, John L. Ory's Communication Arts Teacher.
