Teacher for a Day
During Catholic School’s Week, the eighth grade students had an opportunity to create and carry out a lesson plan. The feedback received from the teachers was very positive. The students arrived dressed for success and handled their various assignments confidently. All the students stated they enjoyed the experience. Many commented that just teaching for a morning was hard enough and that they have a new respect for what teachers go through on a daily basis. All in all, this was a great activity and experience for the students.
Rahul: I enjoyed helping prepare the 4th graders for their Vocabulary test. | Jalen: I enjoyed teaching the 6th graders because they were well behaved. Gabriel: My favorite part was when I took over for Mr. Calma. | Marreon: My favorite part was teaching Math when I was in 3rd grade. It was my favorite subject. |
Gabriel: My favorite part was when I took over for Mr. Calma.
Hillary: I didn't realize that a teacher has to really prepare for their lessons and to look over them just to teach it. | Sofia: (Teaching) can get hard sometimes and we should be more appreciative of our teachers. | Ryan: My favorite part of the whole period was when we gathered around in a circle to share what we are grateful for. |
Christian: My favorite part of teaching (7th grade) was the question/answering as they all had different answers. | Ethan: I have never done anything like this before so it was very fun and exciting. | NJ: My experience as vice principal was great. It was both amazing and scary to fill that role. |
Julian: As principal, I most importantly enjoyed asking the various classes I observed if they enjoyed having my fellow students for teachers. They all answered yes! | Jessica: I honestly really enjoyed teaching the 5th graders because when I was younger I wanted to be a teacher. Arik: One thing I learned when I was teaching 5th grade was you have to keep your students occupied. |
