Beginning Of The Year Assessments
A Note From Nurse Backhus
The beginning of the school year often brings lots of excitement, learning and germs! While our MISD Health Protocols are in place daily, I wanted to share a few reminders with parents about how we can work together to keep everyone healthy this year!
- If your student has run fever of 100 or greater, they must be 24 hours fever free without the use of fever reducing medications before they return to school.
- If your student is sick, please do not send them to school. (see self screening guidelines below)
- All students should continue to do a daily self-evaluation (or with the help of parent) prior to coming to school or boarding school transportation. Symptoms to screen for include: fever equal or over 100.0 degrees, loss of taste or smell, cough, difficulty breathing, shortness of breath, fatigue, headache, chills, sore throat, shaking or exaggerated shivering, significant muscle pain or ache, diarrhea, nausea or vomiting.
MRE staff continues to work with students, encourage hand-washing before and after meals, and sanitize often. While masks are not required or mandated, they remain optional for any staff member or student.
I look forward to working together with our school families for a happy & healthy school year!
Please feel free to reach out to me at stacey.backhus@misd.org with any questions.
Walker Dismissal
A friendly reminder to all parents who meet their walkers at the dismissal door. All walker traffic must travel towards and then down Madeley Ranch Road to Walden Rd. For safety reasons, no traffic may travel directly toward the church and cross the parking lot.
Thank you in advance for helping with this.
Morning Arrival
Students who arrive to school by golf cart and/or car are not permitted to be dropped off at the biker drive to walk in. This is a safety issue and we appreciate you utilizing the car rider line if you're dropping your student off at school.
Our car rider line in the AM is moving great and all cars have been unloaded by 8:10 for the past week.
If you plan on volunteering in any capacity this year.....
Be a Scout!!!
A note from our local Cub Scout Troop!!!
Kindergarten to 5th graders are welcomed to join in the fun and exciting activities such as Camping, Rocket Launching, Games, Skits, and more that will help them learn skills and lessons aligned with our Scout Law:
A Scout is Trustworthy, Loyal, Helpful, Friendly, Courteous, Kind, Obedient, Cheerful, Thrifty, Brave, Clean, and Reverent
We meet monthly at the Walden Community Church, next door to Madeley Ranch Elementary, and we have activities scheduled throughout the year to build upon these principles while having lots of fun along the way. The Cub Scouting program is very family focused, and siblings along with parents are allowed and encouraged to participate in everything we do.
Do not be concerned if your new scout/family does not have much, or any, camping or outdoor experience. We have lots of experienced scouts and leadership that can help get you started.
There is a New Parent Meeting scheduled soon for parents to learn about our organization, what we do, who we are, and to ask all the questions you may have.
