ERD Parent Smore, Week of 12-12-22

Thank you for reading our weekly Smore newsletter!

Important Notes

-We are still having many tardies to school. Morning dropoff begins at 7:15, then traffic is much lighter between 7:20 and 7:35. Arrive before 7:35 to avoid both a long wait in the carpool line and tardies for your child/ren.

-Please park only in the parking lot, rather than in the carpool lanes, for early dismissals between 12:00 and 2:00 to avoid being blocked in by other parents arriving for carpool.

-Now that we have entered the holiday season, please be reminded that unwrapped treats (i.e. cupcakes or cookies from bakeries or grocery stores (never homemade)) are not allowed except for two occasions per year: the school-wide holiday party in December and the end-of-the-school-year party.

-Per federal guidelines, students may not bring (or be brought) outside food for lunch or breakfast.

-Please be considerate and reframe from sending food that contains nuts if your child's teacher sends notice that there is a child in the class that is allergic to nuts. This includes Nutella, which surprisingly, does contain hazelnuts.

Parents, please do not drop your students off on Sunset Dr. or University!! We have a new fence that surrounds the 5th grade building and it runs along the south side of the horseshoe, which blocks off the sidewalk found along the 5th grade building. Any student dropped off on Sunset or University would have to walk amongst the moving cars during morning dropoff, which of course is not acceptable. Safety is our top priority.

Has anyone's child lost a jacket, sweatshirt, hair bow, etc? Then it's probably here. You are welcome to tell your child to visit the lost and found area, or come on your own. All lost and found items will be donated after the holiday break.

Congratulations to Ms. Walden’s (Warr) Class. They were the top readers for the district using MyON and AR. Her class will receive a gift certificate to have a pizza party, courtesy of MyOn and Renaissance. Keep up the great work!!
