Body Safety Program

Thorpe Creek Elementary School and Hamilton Southeastern Schools are partnering this year with Chaucie’s Place, a child advocacy organization in Hamilton County, to bring Smart Steps: A Body Safety Program for Children to our Kindergarten, 2nd, and 4th grade students. Smart Steps is a child sexual abuse prevention and education program that empowers your child to say “NO!” to any unwanted touches that make them uncomfortable.

The program will be presented to all Kindergarten, 2nd, and 4th grade students at Thorpe Creek Elementary school on March 30th and 31st. Each presentation is given in individual classrooms and will last approximately 30 minutes. Chaucie’s Place provides presenters for these presentations and at least one TCE school staff member will sit in on each presentation, as well. Although not required, each child's attendance in the program is strongly recommended.

If you have any questions or do not want your child to participate, please contact school counselors Mrs. Lisa Koers, 317-594-4310 ext. 2272 or Mrs. Jackie Fiesbeck, 317-594-4310 ext. 2287.
