Introducing MHBS Bass Anglers

Mars Hill recently introduced its newly formed Bass Angler Team composed of twenty-seven students from 6th to 12th grade. Coached by Cary Burnley and Shannon Bridges, the team will fish three fall tournaments to qualify for three of six spring tournaments, which will enable our top 12 anglers to represent Mars Hill in competing against schools from all over the state. As in other sports, if the team does well enough, Panther anglers will have an opportunity to compete in a state final competition.

Congratulations to the Bass Angler team of Jacob Jaynes and Brody Williamson and their captain, Steve Humphries, who placed 2nd (out of 54 boats) in their first tournament.

Butter Braid Fundraiser

Today is the last day to order your butter braid. Email your order to Kanisha Jaynes, kjaynes@mhbs.org or print the order form from your email and turn into the office. Butter braids will be available for pick up on October 3. These Danish-style, flaky pastries are hand braided and wrapped around your choice of filling. Butter braids come frozen until ready for use.
