"Super" Spruce Scoop

Volume 2 Edition 27

Rise and Shine...

Welcome back... It's that time again! As we begin the last leg of our school year marathon, I want to take a moment to thank all of the staff members at all of our "Super" Spruce Feeder Pattern schools. When push comes to shove, our teachers, teacher assistants, instructional coaches and administrators are outstanding! The classroom and school buiding is where the rubber meets the road and the work you do every day is critical to the lives of our students. You truly make the difference in the lives of our students! Thank you so very much for the service to our students! Let's finish the year the same way it began.

What's Your Favorite Brand?

If someone were to ask you about your favorite brand, you would likely think of a piece of clothing or possibly shoes. For example, when considering your favorite type of running shoes, many would suggest Nike, some would say Adidas and others might like Reebok. However, the brand that changes lives is what I would like you to think about.

In the "Super" Spruce feeder pattern, we have school leaders developing a brand for their campus which will change the lives for many students. As we move toward the 2016 - 2017 school year, we will have Early College High School at Spruce High School, a Single-Gender Girls school at Balch Springs and a Two-Way Dual Language at B. H. Macon Elementary. Each is unique and will provide an even better learning opportunity for our scholars.

To the left is the proposed logo that has been developed for the Balch Springs Middle School single-gender campus. As your team plans for the upcoming school year, please consider your brand and how it makes the lives better for our scholars.

We have a "Super" Team

Our principals are "Super!" They go above and beyond to provide the very best learning opportunity for our students. Serving as a principal is a very difficult task which requires balancing many priorities. Just to name a few: instruction, school climate, facilities, budget... You get the point, it is a dynamic role. They are simply stellar. They can be seen below engaging in a master schedule presentation (secondary principals) or master schedule (elementary principals) discussion to optimize learning time for students.
