Gulf Coastal Plains

-Wide variety of vegetation.
-Only region in Texas with a beach.
The Gulf Coastal Plains region has really pretty beaches.
North Central Plains
- Hilly, forested land
-Average rainfall is 20-30 inches a year
-There is a lot of ranching and agriculture.
In the North Central Plains it is very hilly.
Great Plains
-15-31 inches of rainfall annually
- Vegetation is very good for farming
-Climate can be very hot
The Great Plains is where Austin is located.
Mountain and Basins
-Has a lot of mountains
- Is a very dry region
-Less than 12 inches of annual rainfall
The mountain and basins region is mostly desert.

Plains-a large area of flat land with few trees.
Precipitation
Precipitation-the action or process of precipitating a substance from a solution.
Agriculture
Agriculture-the science or practice of farming, including cultivation of the soil for the growing of crops and the rearing of animals to provide food, wool, and other products.
Escarpment
Escarpment-a long, steep slope, especially one at the edge of a plateau or separating areas of land at different heights.
