What A Fun Week!

Monday-Field Trip Day! We were so excited that we were still able to go on our hike to Ivy Creek. We are thankful the rain held off so we could visit. Thank you to all parents who chaperoned. Everyone had a lot of fun and we even saw different animals. Check out the fun pictures below.

Tuesday-In math, we are finishing up fractions. Throughout the remainder of the year, we will focus on student surveys. During literacy, we continued working on our Rigby reading assessments. In addition, we used the laptops to practice our spelling skills on Starfall. Students also observed their plants one more time. We have noticed huge changes from the day we planted to today!

Wednesday-We finished all assessments today! Students were very excited to be finished and looking forward to the end of the year. Ms. Rhonda, from the Crozet Library, visited Kindergarten. She shared all about the summer reading program held at our public library. Please read the information that was sent home. Enjoy!

Thursday-In writing, we listened to many different poems. We also began writing our own poems. The students loved it! During literacy, we practiced our favorite iPod spelling apps and even drew and labeled the words. Students also read their own make and take books. In addition, we read our poetry notebooks from the year. Students practiced singing their color songs and noticing all the sight words. They are coming home for the year. Have fun reading these during the summer!

Friday-Music Performance Day! Students did a wonderful job performing for our school. We did a great job remembering our lines as country mice and city mice. In addition, we read our non-fiction Let's Find Out about summer safety. Feel free to read and check out the online resources at home.
