UNGIFTED By:Gordon Korman

I liked and disliked the book Ungifted. I thought that it was a fun and humorous book that kept you wanting more. The robot pulled me in due to my love of robotics. On the other hand, I thought that the book could have been longer. In the end the author kind of just wrapped it up very quickly in one chapter. I feel that the end could have been longer and a slower pace.
I give the book Ungifted 4 out of 5 stars. I give it this rating because I thought that it was an attention grabbing book. I didn't give it five stars because I felt that some parts were kind of rushed and that they could have been a bit slower.
“From its lovable-robot jacket art to its satisfying conclusion, this will please Korman’s fans and win him new ones.”- ALA Booklist
“Funny and insightful.”- Publishers Weekly
Noah Youkilis is another student at the Academy for Academic Distinction . He is the smartest kid there and has an IQ of 206. I pick Noah because he is a big contribution to the book’s plot and humor. After Donovan comes to the academy Noah learns about Youtube and can’t stop watching or posting videos on it. He also hopes to be a WWE wrestler one day. If Noah wasn’t in the book then I feel that this book wouldn’t be complete or quite as funny and that's why I picked him.
Donovan is the main character in this book and he has Mischief in his blood. He is known all throughout Hardcastle Middle school for being a troublemaker. One day he ruins the school gym and the statue of Atlas outside the school and he has to talk to the superintendent. The superintendent accidentally writes Donovan’s name on the gifted list and he gets transferred to the Academy. During Donovan’s time at the academy he adds more life and morale to the students there. Although he isn’t gifted in the way the Academy wants their students to be he is gifted in his own way by showing the students teamwork.
Tin Man Metallica Squarepants (aka Tin Man)
Tin Man has a huge role in the book Ungifted. All the main characters in this book are at the Academy for Academic Distinction and they are all part of the robotics team. This makes Tin Man get focused on a lot in this book. Although he is a robot he is a huge contribution to this book because he causes the characters to come together for their robotics team. Tin man is also included in many big events in the book such as, when the Daniel’s brothers take him out on stage in the middle of a dance and the actual robotics meet itself where Donovan reunites with the academy kids. Overall, the presence of Tin Man wraps the plot together.
