Announcements
- There will be a tech meeting for the musical immediately after school in the auditorium on Tuesday, January 31. All those who signed up with Ms. Dransoff please plan to attend.
- The FINAL day to reserve your yearbook and purchase your Senior Ad will be Friday Feb. 3rd. Go to jostensyearbooks.com to order yours today! (02/03)
- Prom tickets will be on sale for $100 through February 15. February 15 will be the last day tickets will be sold. See Mrs. Justine Smith in room 103 before school or after school to purchase tickets. (02/15)
LOCKDOWN DRILL
Wednesday morning on 2/1/2017 we will have a lockdown drill. No students will be allowed to leave campus or be checked out during this time. There will be extra law enforcement presence on campus to help us conduct this drill. This is vital learning experience to help us evaluate our procedures. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
Attendance Matters - New Attendance Form Beginning 2nd Semester
In order to help our guidance department have a better system with managing absences, a new attendance note has been created that will be implemented beginning of second semester. This form has boxes to check for absence purposes, as well as a parent signature line and date. This form was designed per Onslow County Board of Education Policy Code 4400. It is our hope that this form will be easier to complete. Please pay close attention to the red areas when completing. This form will be made available on our school's website, it will be available in the front office, as well as in the guidance department.
Guidance
- A representative from CCCC will be at RHS on February 7th, sign up in guidance if you would like to meet with the representative.
- Attention seniors: If you are working to complete the SAT scholarship---YOU MUST COMPLETE YOUR HOURS BY TOMORROW, TUESDAY, JANUARY 31st! Those log sheets/verification forms are due signed and dated back to Mrs. Cox on Friday, February 3rd! (02/03)
- Anyone needing SAT hours, please contact the Richlands Library at 910.324.5321 to get on the schedule for orientation!
Club News
- There will be a mandatory HOSA meeting this afternoon, immediately after school in room 106. For those planning to participate in competition, this meeting is mandatory!!
- S2S is accepting freshmen and Transfer Applications to become a member of S2S club. If this is your first year attending RHS and you would like to be considered for S2S club, please pick up a packet in room 1106. Applications are due February 3rd. (02/03)
The FTA will sponsor a hat day on February 10th.
FFA Meeting this Thursday at 2:30pm in the shop! Hope to see all members there!

Sports News
- Any boy wishing to play golf this year should meet in room 302 at the conclusion of school today. The meeting will last approximately 15 minutes.
- All spring sports start on February 13, 2017. You must be academically eligible, have a current physical and your parent must have attended and completed all concussion and parental paperwork to try-out.
- The wrestling team competed in the 3A coastal Conference tournament this past weekend. The team finished 6th overall with Tamaryon Lawrence taking 1st place along with Anthony Roman, Bert Powell, Brandon Schene, Kooper Wolf, and Andrew Pena taking third. Andrew Pena also earned his 100th win during his final match. The team will compete in the 3A East Regional Tournament next week at West Brunswick High School.
