Principal's Corner
The days can be slow, but the years seem to go fast. It is now already February of 2020 and while we still have a good portion of this school year to go, we have already begun planning for the upcoming 2020-21 school year and beyond. We invite families to register for the 2020-21 school year when priority registration begins on February 18th. This is the same date that we are anticipating Mrs. Lori Browne to be rejoining us after her successful surgery and recovery. Thank you to everyone for their prayers and support for Lori during this time.
The month of February is an exciting time as we celebrate our Top 25 Teachers of Orange County. This year we had 9 RHLS teachers as finalists for this prestigious award, with Mr. Ben Hunter selected by Parenting OC magazine as a Top 25 Teacher this year. Our annual Grandparents-VIP Day will take place on Friday, February 14th. Students in Kindergarten – 5th grade are required to RSVP using the online form so we can plan accordingly. The month of February will end as we begin the observance of the Lenten Season with our special All-School Ash Wednesday chapel service on February 26th.
Let’s celebrate each day as a special gift of life from God, beginning our day in prayer and ending our day in prayer to Jesus Christ who guards, guides, and directs our path for His Glory and good purposes.

Children's Ministry
Red Hill Lutheran Church offers a weekly Children’s Ministry Program for all children in Kindergarten through 5th Grade. Using a combination of large group and small group activities, we intentionally strive to create an environment where children come to Know Jesus, Impact the world around them, become Disciples of Jesus and Serve others – K.I.D.S.!
If you do not already have a church home, we invite you to join us. Family Worship is on the first Sunday of the month, at which time whole families are invited to worship together during our 10:00 am Contemporary Worship Service in the Sanctuary.
For more information, please contact Children's Ministry Coordinator, Beth Stoffregen.

February Teaching Series "Real Love"
Sunday, February 9th - The Good Samaritan
Sunday, February 16th – Loving Others When It’s Hard
Sunday, February 23rd- The Greatest Commandment
OVERVIEW:
On February 9th we start our new teaching series “Real Love.” In this series, we are going to examine a few of Jesus’ teachings in depth and discover practical ways we can demonstrate our love for God, family, friends and enemies, too. Our hope is that by the end of this series, every kid will be able to say, because God loves everyone, I can show God’s love by being kind, I can show God’s love even when it’s hard and that ultimately love is the best choice. We invite all kids to join us in the K.I.D.S. Zone on Sunday mornings!
First Communion Class
Sunday, February 23rd at 11:30 am – in the K.I.D.S. Zone
We are offering a First Communion Class for all kids currently in 2nd Grade and older. This class, led by Pastor Seth, is for kids and families to attend together. Stop by the Children’s Ministry Table after worship to sign up and pick up a workbook. The workbook contains a handful of lessons which families will go through together at home in advance of the class. Our First Communion Celebration will be Sunday, March 1st at the 10:00 am at our All Family Worship Service. Please email Beth Stoffregen at beths@redhillchurch.org for more information.
Lenten Bags
Lent is a season of the Church Year that lasts six weeks. Lent begins on Ash Wednesday and ends the day before Easter Sunday. During these six weeks we look forward to Good Friday, the day our Lord died on the cross to pay for our sins, and to Easter Sunday, the day He rose from the dead to prove it!
To help you prepare your hearts, our RHL Youth & Family Team is providing Lenten Devotional Bags for every child in our church and school. These Lenten Bags will go home with your child on Ash Wednesday (February 26th). Inside every bag is an age appropriate devotion to be used during the Lenten Season, a Family Lent Calendar and a lot of information about many upcoming events on our Red Hill Campus.
PHASE BOOK RESOURCES!
Many families are checking out books from our Family Resource Cart. THIS IS SO FANTASTIC! We love getting these resources into your hands! Our Phase Books are of particular interest to many families. Because of this high demand, we have purchased additional copies of each Phase Book, covering every phase from Newborn Baby to 12th Grade.
Stop by our Family Resource Cart and see what the Phase Books have to say about the phase your child is currently in.
Once you have found the book you are interested in, simply fill out the card located inside the front cover and drop it in the wood box on the Family Resource Cart. When you are finished, bring the book back & put the card back inside the front cover!
Can't find the information you are looking for? Let us know.
We will see if we can help find that resource for you.
Our Family Resource Cart can be found on the courtyard patio on Wednesday and Sunday mornings and in the Narthex (lobby) of the Church on all other days.
