Clubs Update

eCybermission - Applications Due by Sept. 29

The eCybermission club is accepting applications! We are a STEM competition club where students work in teams of 2-4 to research and solve problems. Interested students can attend an interest meeting (September 27 or October 4 during Flex) to learn more and get an application. There will also be a mandatory virtual parent meeting on October 7th. The link will be sent to those whose applications are turned in by October 6th at 9am. The session will be recorded and shared. Click HERE for the application.

Project Green Schools

Project Green Schools is now accepting applications! We will meet during Flextime each Friday for recycling and on alternating Wednesdays for other Green Schools initiatives. Students should complete this Google Form, and we will reach out to them soon!

The River Gives Back...A Volunteer Club

All 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students are welcome to help serve others in our school and local community. Click HERE to sign up.

Check out additional clubs on our website HERE.

Curriculum Night

Curriculum night will take place virtually as it did last year. More information is coming soon. All info will be included in the newsletter.

Teacher of the Month Nominations Open!

Nominations for September Teacher/Staff of the month are open! Please take a moment to nominate a deserving colleague. If you find yourself with a few spare moments in class or flex, it would be great to encourage students to nominate. Nominate Here:

Food Drive for The Place

We are partnering with The Place to help refill our community food pantry. During the month of September, we are collecting canned peas, canned chicken, and bags of rice. These are items they have specifically requested, and they would like regular size items instead of bulk size. The team that collects the most items in each grade will win an ice cream party. Thank you for supporting this cause!

Exciting news... WE Real Estate Advisors is sponsoring our ice cream prize, so we are now able to award the top team on every grade level!

Your Input Matters!

Questions? Just ask!

At RMS, we strive to provide everything our students and families need to be successful. It is important to us that you are always able to quickly find an answer to any questions you may have. We will either reach out to you to provide an answer, or the answer may appear in the newsletter the following week, whichever is most appropriate. Please enter your questions HERE

Q: How do you trace Covid cases?

A: Once notified of a positive case, we use our seating records to determine any student who may have been within six feet of the positive case for fifteen minutes or more. Our administrative team inputs that information which then prompts a messenger that is sent to the parent portal email of the parent or guardian of the students identified as direct contacts.

Q: What did RMS do to encourage staff and students to wear a mask?

A: Weekly we communicate the guidelines outlined in Keep Forsyth Safe in our announcements. Masks are available upon request. It is important that parents keep children at home if they are exhibiting any Covid symptoms.

Q: When will agendas be in?

A: Agendas are in and should have been delivered to your student.

Q: Will the county continue to provide lunch and breakfast free this quarter?

A: Lunch and breakfast is being provided through the United States Department of Agriculture. This is not a county level program. It will continue as long as it is approved by the USDA.

Q: Is there a tennis training session available?

A: No, RMS does not offer tennis and has no facilities for tennis.
