Signs and symptoms of Binge Eating Disorder include:

  • Body weight is normal to mild, moderate,or severe obesity
  • Feelings of anger, anxiety, worthlessness, or shame preceding binges
  • Strong need to be in control and have a difficulty expressing your feelings and needs
  • The disappearance of large amounts of foods in short periods of times or lots of empty wrappers and containers

  • Periods of uncontrolled, impulsive, or continuous eating beyond the point of feeling uncomfortably full, but you do not purge

While she was a "Spice Girl," she was constantly pressured by her management to lose weight and be slim. Her other co-stars encouraged her to take liquid meal substitutes. She eventually started to binge eat as she became obsessed with her appearance and weight.
