Did You Know?

September is National Childhood Obesity Awareness Month. Nearly 1 in 3 kids or teens in the US are overweight or obese. What are you putting in your child’s lunch box? For heart healthy grocery shopping tips go to heart.org/nutrition

Children and teens should participate in at least 60 minutes of moderate-intensity physical activity most days of the week, and every day if possible. You can set a great example! Start adding physical activity to your own daily routine and encourage your child to join you. Some examples include:

• Brisk Walking • Playing soccer • Playing tag • Swimming • Jumping rope • Dancing
