Dear SMS Families,
Another week has ended and we are now 4 weeks away from the completion of another school year. This school year will be one for the history books, to say the least. I love this quote, as it truly captures the essence of life as we know it today.
We will continue to work together to meet our curriculum goals and objectives through the end of the year. Your children will be prepared to move on to the next grade level in the fall.
The teachers, staff, and I are making plans for you to pick up your student’s personal items and drop off textbooks, instruments, cheerleading uniforms, etc. This will be done methodically so that social distancing is enforced and so that no one enters the building. We are looking to schedule drive-through pick-ups and drop-offs where our teachers and staff load and unload your trunks while you stay in the car. Each grade level and/or family will be scheduled. Look for details to come by the week of June 1st.
The next big question is next year? I am currently on a planning committee at the Diocese and we are investigating best practices in order to formulate plans for different scenarios for next year. We will be ready to implement a safe and effective learning plan when we get the final directives from the State of Connecticut. You will be hearing much more about this in the weeks and months to come.
Get outside and enjoy these beautiful days in the sunshine...garden, play ball, explore, but most of all rest your minds and nourish your souls.
Blessings, peace, and wellness,
Anna
