Choose your student's learning pathway!

Greetings, BSD Families:

As you know, the Bremerton School District will begin the 2020-21 school year on September 2nd with virtual learning. We will continue to rely on public health guidance in monitoring community health and reassess the situation in November.

Once it is safe to open our school buildings, we will implement our three learning pathways we shared with you earlier this summer, which include:

  1. Hybrid Learning: Students in all schools will be split into two groups (A,B) and will attend school in-person two days a week and have continuous, virtual learning with teacher support the remaining days of the week.

  2. Virtual Learning: All learning is conducted virtually using consistent digital learning platforms throughout the District. This is an improved model over the distance learning implemented on an emergency basis in spring 2020, incorporating more accountability, robust learning, individualization, and teacher support.

  3. Home Link: Our existing parent partnership (alternative learning experience) for students in grades K-8.

To help us in our planning process, please choose a learning pathway for your student. This would be the learning pathway for your student(s) once we can offer some level of face-to-face learning.

We invite you to view our Learning Pathways Comparison for information on each of the three models.

We realize that there are many unknowns and this is a difficult choice to make now. Due to staffing requirements, we cannot guarantee that you will be able to change your student’s learning pathway later in the year.

Response requested

Please log-in to Skyward and choose the pathway for each of your students enrolled in the District. Please make your selection by midnight on Sunday, August 16.

Thank you for your assistance!

Aaron Leavell, Ed.D.
