LVE Students Continue MAP Testing
Throughout the past three weeks, Lakeview students in grades 3-6 have been participating in the Missouri Assessment Program (MAP). MAP is one way we measure student achievement as well our progress with curricular and state goals and standards. As we move into our final week of testing, please continue to help our students shine by making sure they get plenty of rest each night and have a healthy breakfast each day. We also ask that you ensure that your child arrives to school each day on time and you avoid scheduling appointments during testing hours. Finally, we recommend that you talk to your child about doing his or her best on the test, but not to the extent that he or she is worried or stressed. This is not a test for which students study; it is a chance for them to show what they know!

5th Grade:
Monday, May 14th - 8:45-11:00 (Science)
4th Grade:

WSD Food Expo
You and your family are cordially invited to our Food Expo this Saturday, May 5th at Liberty High School from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. As you know, the WSD will be opting out of the National School Lunch Program beginning next school year, and the Food Expo is an opportunity for you to taste and rate food items that are being considered as potential menu items for our students. Bring your whole family and sample free food items from approximately 40 vendors who will be preparing and showcasing their food. Don't forget to bring your smartphone so you can weigh in on the foods you like best, because we value your feedback.
If you have any questions about the event, please contact our Child Nutrition Department at 636-327-3858, ext. 21330. We hope to see you there!

Public Library Summer Programs
Libraries Rock!
Summer is quickly approaching and so is the Summer Reading Program at St. Charles City-County Library. This year's theme is Libraries Rock! We will have many exciting programs all summer long to encourage readers to visit the library, keep reading, and Rock!
The reading program begins early this year and runs from May 29th to Augsut 1st. We will have online registration again this year and would love it if students were able to register for the program before they are even out of school for the summer! There will be a link that I will send out to all schools as soon as it is live so students can begin registering at home or at school before summer officially begins.
We will have a game board that students will fill out to complete the program. They can choose from a variety of different activities, such as reading for 20 minutes, attending a library program, or playing outside, to complete their game board. Once they have completed 30 out of the 40 options they will earn a book and the chance to choose between earbuds and color changing sunglasses . They will also be entered into drawings for some exciting grand prizes, like a Nintendo Switch !
The Corporate Parkway Branch would love the opportunity to come out and speak with your students about this year's Summer Reading Program. Please let us know if there is a time that we could come out and speak with all of the students. We can do larger assemblies or speak with smaller groups, whatever works best for your school. If you have a TV system in the school for announcements we can even be video taped and played during announcements. Please feel free to email or call us and we can try to set up a good time for a school visit.
We are very excited about the theme this year and are looking forward to helping keep your students reading all summer long. Also, please forward this on to other staff members if there is someone else in your building who might be interested.
