Each month, students showing leadership in their class or at school, are selected as a Husky of the Month. These students celebrate their achievement with a special lunch with Principal Gray. So proud of our SHE student leaders!
Welcome New Huskies!!
At the beginning of second semester, we welcomed 21 new students!! We have new friends from North Georgia, Atlanta, Cumming, Alabama, Florida and even as far away as California!! And as the tradition goes, all new students proudly received their very own SHE Husky. Please join us in welcoming our new Huskies to Summit Hill!!
100th day of school Celebration!!
Each year our Kindergarten students mark our 100th day of school with a unique celebration. Many bring projects to display 100 favorite things. Many celebrated the 100th day of school by dressing in their best interpretation of 100 years old! They had so much fun showing off! Pictured here are brothers Brooks (Kindergarten) and Lleyton Segrave (First Grade).

Read Across America Week: February 26 - March 2nd
Change of Date - 2/23 Principal's Coffee moved to March 2nd
To accommodate for our Kindergarten Husky Huddle, the Principal’s Coffee originally scheduled for Friday, February 23rd has been moved to March 2nd and will be combined with the Parent University. We are excited to have a special guest speaker, Aimee Bucker.
Summit Hill Huskies would like to welcome Aimee Buckner as our featured speaker for this month’s Parent University. Ms. Buckner is the author of three books: Notebook Know-How; Notebook Connections; and Non-Fiction Notebooks. She is also an international consultant working in schools to support best practices in reading and writing. As a featured speaker at several national and international conferences, she also has teaching videos with Stenhouse Publishers and choiceliteracy.com.
Aimee Buckner will help our parent community understand the workshop structure and how it works to make a strong impact on student learning. In addition, Aimee will help us understand the importance of independent reading for students – at school and at home – and how we can best support our children to accelerate their learning and their love for reading.
Please join us, Friday, March 2, 2018 from 7:45 – 9:00 AM, for what will be an informative and enjoyable morning focused on reading.
IXL Subscription
Summit Hill Elementary's subscription with IXL will end on February 27, 2018. In lieu of renewing, we will utilize FrontRowEd as well as programs provided by Fulton County. Currently FCS provides Redbird but will be providing a different program in the upcoming school year. Program options are currently being researched by the county.
FrontRowEd is a free resource that includes a placement screening to ensure the students are working on their personal level for math. It also allows the teacher to assign specific activities. It is aligned to the Georgia Standards of Excellence, thus meeting our current curriculum. Students will be able to access FrotRowEd from home, just like other programs provided by Fulton County. Look for information from your child's teacher on how to login at home.
Please feel free to explore the program by clicking on the link below.
