Pre-AP Science ~ Mrs. Sanchez and Ms. Marek

Marek: This week we are digging more into Organisms and Environments. We will have a quick progress check quiz 11/29 and we will test over Classification and Variation Friday 12/1.

STEAM Science ~ Mrs. Sanchez and Ms. Hernandez

Marek: This week we are digging more into Organisms and Environments. We’ve just completed our study on cells and we are moving on to classification and taxonomy.

Accelerated Science ~ Mrs. Irons

This week we will be focusing on balancing chemical equations. This is one of the tougher things we will do this year! Be prepared to practice. We will test over Compounds, Chemical Changes, and Chemical Equations on Friday, December 1. Tutoring will be available Tuesday and Thursday this week after school until 4:30. Our unit “You Are What You Eat” will culminate on December 6th with our feast of student create

This week, we will be continuing our lessons from Unit 4. Students will be working on converting measurements and learning how to find a percent of a number. We will also be practicing our multiplication and division facts at the beginning of the class each day.


We are moving the Unit 4 vocabulary test to the Tuesday after break. Please make sure your child studies their words and is prepared for the test on 11/28/17.

This week we will continue Unit 3 over Proportional Reasoning. We will be focusing on unit rate, constant rate of change and solving proportions. Students will have a progress check over unit rate on Wednesday.

Humanities ~ Mrs. Moore, Ms. Lindamood, Mrs. Strother and Ms. Peden

We will begin our unit on South America. Fiction and non-fiction readings will center around the culture and rainforest preservation of South America.

Global Business and Professional Communication ~ Ms. Tedford and Ms. Owen


Students have been hard at work collaborating and planning their event. This week they will be developing the promotion for their events by writing an event proposal and creating an commercial or advertisement that describes the details of their event and shows how exciting it will be!

Art ~ Mrs. Beam

  • We will jump into our final unit for the semester focusing on furthering our watercolor skills and taking a deeper look at color theory.

  • The STEAM Art Show will take place on Dec. 1st at 5:30 pm in the STEAM Cafeteria. Come join us as we celebrate all the hard work of our art students this semester.

Beginning Band ~ Mr. Sypert

Our Winter Concert is on December 7th at 6:30pm in the BHS Auditorium! Students need to continue practicing their parts and making their videos as we push towards our first performance of the year!
