RAA Young Artist Showcase for Music

Congratulations to all of our students who participated in the RAA Young Artist Showcase for Music. St. Louis was very represented, and we are proud of each student for performing for the judges.

ISSMA SOLO and Ensemble Competition

Congratulations to our students who participated in the ISSMA Solo and Ensemble Competition on Saturday. St. Louis received all gold medals! Martha Hillenbrand received a gold medal for her vocal solo. Elizabeth Harmeyer, Martha Hillenbrand, Kayla Stone, Kathryn Wilder, and Mimi Wilder all received gold medals for their piano solos. Way to go!

RAA Art Auction Pieces from SLS Students

The 26th Annual Art Auction will take place February 13, 2016 at Wahill Farm. Doors open at 6:00 PM with the silent auction. Dinner is at 7:30 and the live auction begins at 8:30. PTO CORNER

The next PTO meeting will be on Thursday, February 18th at 7:00 pm. We will meet in the Prickel house located at 18 St. Louis Place. All parents and teachers are invited to attend.


Love chocolate??? PTO is looking for one or two volunteers to organize the Chocolate Bar Sale this year. It usually takes place in April. If you are interested, please contact Amanda Canessa at atcanessa@gmail.com or Jenny Schebler at rjschebler@aol.com.


We are also looking for a few volunteers to organize and help with the Young Hoosier party. This party is sponsored by the Library for all 4-8 graders who complete the Young Hoosier book requirement. It usually includes Pizza, lots of junk food and an afternoon of fun for the kids. Please contact Sharon Miller at smiller@st.louisschool.org or Jenny Schebler at rjschebler@aol.com if you are interested in helping. The party takes usually takes place in May.

General Mills Box Tops Contest - FRIDAY LAST DAY

Please place all box tops in a Ziploc bag and return it with the child’s name, grade, and homeroom teacher written on the outside or on a piece of paper in the bag. Box tops for the contest will be accepted between now and Friday February 12. Bonus and ebox tops also accepted.

St. Judes Math-A-Thon

The booklets with math problems have been given to the students. We ask that all pledges be returned to school by Tuesday, February 23rd. Thank you in advance for helping families less fortunate than we are.

Food for the Poor Fundraiser

Spanish Club will be selling handmade friendship bracelets and paper flowers on Tuesday, February 9th through Thursday, February 11th outside of Mrs. Roell's room from 7:30-7:55am. Friendship bracelets are $.75 and paper flowers are $.50. All proceeds from our fundraiser will go to the organization Food for the Poor, which provides food, medicine, shelter, and other services to families throughout Latin America.

Weekly Bingo workers needed!

The Bingo Committee is looking for a floor worker to work the thirdThursday of each month from about 6:30-10:00. Floor workers watch for players to bingo, bring the player cards to the caller for verification, pay winnings to the player and keep tables clear of used bingo cards and other trash. You don’t need to know anything about bingo to do this job! It is a great opportunity to fulfill your 40-hour volunteer commitment! Free dinner!!! Meet lots of fun people!!! If you have a friend and would like to work together, we would love to have two people! If you have a friend or spouse who would share the job and each work every other month, that works as well. batesville family feud

The BHS Junior Kiwanis Student Leadership Academy (KSLA) is putting on a Family Feud game for the community on February 20th. Our Batesville Feud will be hosted by Charlie Zimmerman and will consist of 5 teams of community members and local businesses, including a local teachers team with Mrs. Weigel and Mrs. Cooper from Saint Louis. It will be held at the Gibson at 2:00 and the teams will answer questions in the style of the show, with the winning team donating money to a charity. Please come out and support Mrs. Weigel and Mrs. Cooper.

Musical Notes

The Fourth and Fifth grade program will be Monday, April 11. The singing program will begin at 7:00, with musical appetizers (recorder songs) at approx. 6:45 pm and will be held in the Activity Center.

5th and 6TH GRADE GIRLS BASKETBALL

The 5th grade lady Cardinals played with great improvement against Mt. Carmel but lost 26-10. Katie Nobbe led the team with 6 points. Ella Smith and Haley Geisen chipped in 2 points.

The 6th grade lady Cardinals also played very hard and worked together great as a team. Mt. Carmel, with hot shooting, outscored the Cardinals 32-20. Emma Weberding led the team with 6 points. Ava Allen, Lilly Wonnell, and Faith Tekulve each added 4
points and Alyssa Wanstrath chipped in a basket as well.


The 5th grade lady Cardinals lost a nailbiter to St. Paul's last night! Final score was 19-20

The Cardinals were led by Megan Bauer with 6 points. Megan Raab and Teresa Wanstrath had 4 apiece. Katie Nobbe finished with 3 and Ella Smith chipped in 2. The lady Cardinals played great team basketball and worked very hard every possession. Good
effort lady Cardinals!!!

7TH GRADE GIRLS BASKETBALL

The St. Louis 7th grade Lady Cardinals beat Sunman Dearborn on Thursday @ Sunman Dearborn Middle School 30 to 28

8TH GRADE GIRLS BASKETBALL

The St. Louis Lady Cardinals WON against the Sunman Dearborn Middle School Lady Trojans last night in an away game with the score ending in 31-13. Leading scorers for the game were GiGi Dreyer with 12, Harlee Masavage with 7, Mindy Eckstein with 6, Sydney Schutte with 4, and Molly Wachsmann with 2. Defensively all the girls played an amazing game, and worked hard the whole game. Way to go lady Cards.



The St. Louis Lady Cards fell to the Batesville Middle School Tuesday night with a score of 36-11. Harlee Masavage, GiGi Dreyer, Sydney Schutte, and Betsy Harmeyer all contributed points. Molly Wachsmann and Mindy Eckstein played good defense.
