Final Days: The 109 Gives Back Holiday Gift Drive

Boxes have been placed in the lobbies of all 6 schools as we spread the holiday magic around DPS 109. We are coming together for the third year as a district for this drive benefiting Deerfield families to ensure that every child has a great holiday season!

The LAST day to drop off is on Friday 12/9!

Winter Weather Reminders & E-Learning

As we move into winter, we encourage you to ensure your child is dressed for the elements!

If conditions are deemed unfit for opening school, it is DPS 109's intent to utilize a remote learning day when possible in place of adding an extra day to the end of the school year. If the forecast calls for unfavorable conditions, students and staff will be alerted the day before to bring home devices and prepare for the possibility of a remote learning day. The determination wouldn't be made until the actual morning of school.

See below for how you would be notified on the morning of a potential remote learning day and click below to read more on our bad weather procedures:

What's Good in 109: Spreading Kindness & Learning How To Spend Wisely

We like to share What's Good in 109 in every newsletter, at every board meeting, and on social media as much as possible. Check out some of the latest good things below.

Caruso students recently entered the Google Film Festival with this really sweet act of appreciation they performed for some staff members at CMS:

Spreading Kindness
2nd graders at South Park have been busy earning "money" for good behavior and things they have done in class... and recently got a chance to spend their hard earned cash on some cool prizes donated by families! The whole process was set up as an auction, where students had to figure out how much they could afford to bid.... and decide how to best spend their money. Lots of fun!
