A Letter from Principal Dwyer
Dear DuJardin School Community,
It has been an honor and pleasure to serve Bloomingdale School District #13 for the last thirty years, and more specifically the DuJardin School community as principal for the last twenty years. I have appreciated all of the opportunities that the District has offered me during that time and I am grateful for all of the wonderful relationships that I have made over the last three decades.
I am retiring at the end of this school year as my last day of work in the district will be June 30th. I was very fortunate to start as a student teacher at DuJardin School, "Back in the day," and now I will finish my career as DuJardin's principal. I am also very thankful that both of my daughters completed their K-8 schooling in District #13.
Only ten percent (10%) of the twenty-four hundred plus (2,400) schools in the state of Illinois are rated as, "Exemplary," and DuJardin School has been identified as one of those schools.
I will miss the students, parents and staff members who, over the years, have made DuJardin such an "Exemplary" place.
Mr. Haugens, the current principal of Erickson Elementary, will be taking over as principal of DuJardin starting July 1st. He has included a message below.
Again, it has been an honor and my pleasure to serve you and your children over the years.
Sincerely,
Mark Dwyer
A Letter from Principal Haugens
Welcome from Mr. Haugens: I am very excited to be joining the DuJardin Community next school year, although it does sadden me to see Mr. Dwyer retire. Ever since I joined the Bloomingdale School District 8 years ago, I have considered Mr. Dwyer a mentor and close friend. DuJardin Elementary School has a reputation of excellence and I look forward to sustaining that excellence for years to come. DuJardin is also a school that values community and relationships. I could not be happier to join the DuJardin community and work with all stakeholders to empower every child to become a responsible, productive, and engaging lifelong learner.
