Preserve the memory of Child in America!
We’re going to move ahead with a plan this year to rename—with very mixed emotions— Child in America. Because of the course name has never really captured the course content, the Department of Educational Studies will be renaming the course Education in America.
However, due to the course’s legen-wait-for-it-dary status, we'll being sending off CIA as a name and ushering in the new name of the course with fanfare & fun!
For a small donation towards the MAT Summer Literacy Camp, you can add your memories of Child in America to a book that will be given to Dr. Angela Johnson.
The course has opened the eyes of so many undergrads, changed the lives of countless K-12 students, and shaped the future teachers of our MAT program, that we must properly pay homage to the class that will be forever known in our hearts as Child in America!
