Weekly Newsletter- 6th Grade
August 23rd-27th
First Week
We are off to a great start in 6th grade! The students are doing well with transitioning to each class, they've been enjoying recess with friends, and staff are appreciating some 6th grade student help in the mornings with helping younger students to classrooms.
Mrs. Maleta talked with the 6th graders about the opportunity to be a part of Safety Patrol (students should have information for you, if they're interested) and we also learned about joining band and strings this week (again, students should have shared information with you).
Reminders- Please send a reusable water bottle to school with your child. An extra mask in backpacks is helpful too, especially on hotter days or PE days.
August 23rd-30th Learning
Math with Mr. Bush and Mrs. Seyer- Students are gaining an understanding of what ratios are and how they're used and continuing with our first module on ratios this week.
Writing and Social Studies with Ms. Kohrs- During grammar this week, we'll be learning about complete sentences and review sentence types. The first unit of social studies introduces students to being a historian- we'll learn about archaeology, anthropology, and periods of time.
Reading with Mrs. Logan- We'll continue to analyze story structure this week. Please see below for vocabulary and spelling words for the week.
