Asa C. Adams School Newsletter
September 2022
Dear Asa Families,
The start of the new school year has brought a great amount of joy to the staff here at Asa. Welcoming our students back with smiling faces and fewer restrictions than in the past two years has felt amazing! Now, that the school year is off and running our students and staff are working hard to set up routines and expectations for the year ahead. We truly appreciate your patience as we take time to remember some of our old routines and begin to practice new ones that look and feel a little different than in the past two years.
We will also be looking forward to hosting an Open House in the next couple of weeks. Please stay tuned for the date and time in future correspondence. Additionally, we are excited to welcome volunteers into the building to help support the teaching and learning here at Asa. If you are interested please see the information in the section below about volunteering.
Finally, Ms. West and myself are looking forward to working closely with families this year to create the best possible experiences for your children. If you have questions, concerns, suggestions, or feedback of any kind, please feel free to reach out. We are more than happy to meet or chat with you at anytime.
So, as always please know we are here if you need us.
Sincerely,
Ms. Wyman and Ms. West
Dogs on school property. Please remember that for the comfort and safety of students and staff, dogs are not permitted within 50ft of any school entrance or on the Asa playground. You can find the policy in the school handbook on page 10. | Drop Off and Pick Up Procedures. For both drop-off and pickup, we ask that you do not get out of your car when you are using the drop off / pick up lane. While these locations are staffed, the role of staff is to oversee flow and direct students (rather than loading / unloading students). If you need to get out to help your child load / unload from the vehicle, please park your car in the main parking lot, use the sidewalks to the main entrance to minimize crossing traffic, and walk with your child in the parking lot. Whenever possible, loading / unloading for students in the drop off / pick up lane should occur on the building side of the vehicle in order to avoid students moving in the parking lot or road where other cars are moving. | Morning Arrival Reminders. Students arriving before 8:30 should report to the Cafeteria or Gym based on their grade level.
