WHS to Hold Covid Olympics

Big picture

In recognition of the 1-year mark of the school-wide shutdown, WHS will hold its first-ever, Covid Olympics! Competitions will be held at Aspen Ridge on Friday, March 12th which will include sled races, a snowshoe relay, a sled pull race, and a tug-of-war. Rewards will be given to first place winners of the competitions. Sign-up sheets can be found in the office and all sign-ups must be turned in by Thursday, March 11th! Any student who signs up may be randomly selected to give Mr. Fossitt a pie to the face!

The event will take place the last two hours of the day. Students who are not interested in taking part or being a spectator will have the option to stay back at the school. Students are not allowed to leave during the event without being excused by a parent or guardian.

Summer School Update

WHS will be offering summer school for credit recovery from June-August 2021. Each .5 credit course will cost $100. Summer school recommendations will be mailed out at the end of the school year. Any questions can be directed to our school counselor, Mrs. Halamka.

High School Students Enjoy the Outdoors

Mrs. Halamka took Ms. Villar's Management and Leadership class and Mrs. Marana's Guided Instruction class out snowshoeing last week. The goal was to get some fresh air and discuss the ways physical activity can positively impact mental health. The groups snowshoed around the school property, on the trails that were built by Mr. Corcoran's 6th-grade Explorations class. They will be snowshoeing every Wednesday, as a weekly reminder to get outside and practice self-care.

Inclement Weather (Snow) Days - Reminder

We have one inclement weather/snow day remaining. Once it has been used, all inclement weather days will be considered virtual learning days, which will require students to check their Google Classroom for instructions for the day.
