Stars and Wish
- Thank you for the productive time shown on our work day! Your professional work moves kids! Gray is so lucky to have such a strong staff!
- I can't say enough how fun it has been to visit math classes this month! Math workshop is going strong:) Thank you for taking time to know your students and their needs in math!
- Data informed and purpose driven is how I would describe our school. You know what the data shows and understand why the data is what it is and the story behind the numbers. Thank you for caring about the WHOLE child and knowing how to move the needle in growth. That is a gift!
- During transitions between rotations a teacher said she was watching a secret student to see if the class would earn a Dojo point - is that secret student at their assigned rotation in time? If so the teacher gave the class a point. Countdowns, timers, etc... various ways used this week during math rotations. Quick and quiet is the goal - saw lots of great examples.
Wish:
- Keep brainstorming with your grade level team on how to hold students accountable during rotations. Are you keeping track of their movement on Lexia and Dreambox? Do students complete a form or exit ticket on their learning at assigned station? Much of their learning time is self regulated and we need to ensure the best we can that they are using this time wisely to grow. Celebrate kids doing the right thing and showing growth:)
Trauma Tidbits
You can't coach a child to a higher state than you yourself are in.
Mirror Neurons: Grumpy people download grumpiness to others, Peaceful people can download peace to others.
Don't Forget
All May Do-Must Do forms should be turned in to Angie's mailbox - it was a purple paper.
