Phi Theta Kappa at Hill College

Hill College came and visited with BCHS Juniors about Phi Theta Kappa. Students were reminded how to apply using the email they received from Hill College. The qualifications are:

  • First-rate completion of at least 12 hours at Hill College of college-level coursework counting toward degree requirements
  • TSI complete
  • 3.50 minimum cumulative GPA in all coursework attempted at Hill College

One time membership dues of $74 can earn students a $2500 scholarship in addition to many other scholarship opportunities. Students are encouraged to apply.

Juniors may have received acceptance letters this week through their Hill College email. Make sure you check your "Junk" folder as many letters have ended up there. A BCHS orientation is being scheduled so students do NOT need to attend the orientation at the Hill College Burleson campus. We will get the details to you as soon as possible.

Crime Stoppers and Friends for Life

Please take a moment to review the BISD Safety and Security website to learn about our safety programs, including Crime Stoppers and Friends For Life.

BISD knows that students see and hear things. A vital step in prevention is early identification of potential threats and intelligence gathering. In partnership with Tarrant County Crime Stoppers and Friends for Life, BISD provides students with a platform to submit anonymous tips. Students are encouraged to report information that is criminal, threatening, inappropriate, or potentially harmful on topics that may include:

Bullying
Dating violence
Cyberbullying
Family violence/abuse
Gang activity
Sexting
Sexual harassment
Suicidal thoughts

Students are able to anonymously submit tips through a phone app, at www.469tips.com or by calling Crime Stoppers 817-469-8477.

Our students learned about these programs when Mrs. Alley visited their classes earlier this year, and they may come home with questions.

If you have questions, feel free to email or call our office.

College Fever is in the Air!

It is exciting times at BCHS for our juniors as you begin to plan for after high school. Remember that you have the opportunity to have two days excused to allow you to visit colleges with your parents. In order to be excused and not count towards attendance, the date of the absence must be pre-approved. Here is the link to the form for approval. You can also find it under Parents/Students on the BCHS website. It is called College Absence Form!

Building Access

The BCHS doors unlock at 7:45 am each morning. Students are supervised from 7:45 am to 4:30 pm each school day.

The front office is open from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm each school day.

Verification of Enrollment

Are you planning to get your driver's permit or license? See Mrs. Clore in the front office to get your attendance Verification of Enrollment (VOE). Please allow 1 business day for form completion.

Attendance is vital to success!

Attendance is important! Students at BCHS cannot afford to miss time at school, especially in their college classes. Students should be present at school, unless they are ill. If students are ill, parents should notify the front office and send a written note or doctor's note with their child when he/she returns.
