First Day of School
Dear parents:
I am happy to say we are off and running. It was a wonderful first day and it was great to see all the new faces this morning ready to attack the new year.
I am sure they were all nervous and a little anxious, but mostly, I hope, they were excited about what lies ahead. It’s funny, as I recall my first experience as a middle school parent, the conversations I had with my kids had to do with the new sneakers my son was going to wear or the outfit my daughter had picked out. I suppose this was their way of avoiding the new challenges that lay before them for a little while longer.
The most important message I can provide you as parents, as well as your sons and daughters, is that they are ready. There are going to be some hiccups with lockers, schedules, and getting around the school, but this is normal and they will manage it. We have wonderful staff members here to help and support them along the way.
We are looking forward to welcoming all students tomorrow and for a fantastic school year.
Please see below for important information. If you have any questions please feel free to contact the school and we will do our best to have your questions answered.
Enjoy your day, and when they arrive home, ask them how their first day of middle school went.

Important Information
New Secured Entry Information
As part of Council Rock’s increasing focus on security, a new front entrance access system was added to our building over the summer. Please be advised that our front doors will always be locked now as a result of this new security enhancement. The new, secure entry system includes enhanced features that Front Office staff will use to verify visitor identity and permit front door entry.
In order to gain access to the Front Office of our building now, the following will occur:
- School visitors will push an audio intercom button located at our front door entry area.
- School visitors will use the front entry audio intercom system to communicate their identity and purpose of visit with a Front Office staff member
- Front Office staff member will confirm visitor identity using the new system’s camera feature and permit Front Office access
Once in the Front Office, visitors will sign in as a building guest, show ID, and complete the Raptor identification process to receive a visitor tag. Please always be prepared to show ID.
Please Review All Attached Documents. These documents contain an important message from Dr. Fraser, health suite related information from Ms. Hecht the school nurse, and more detailed information about the Vaping Presentation being offered prior to our Back to School Night.
